Intramural Leagues at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) are coming to an end. Intramurals bring so much excitement and positive energy throughout the facility, as competition is met with camaraderie. Meeting other people who share the same passion for sports creates a great community here at Long Beach State University (LBSU). Many of our participants have made lifelong friendships along the way.
Just like previous seasons, this season was not short of friendly competition. Many of the games were neck and neck and came down to the final few points. The teams brought their A-game during playoffs and finals week, but ultimately the winners took home their championship t-shirt. Each game brought out the fire among all teams, but these were the groups that made it to victory:
- Indoor Soccer: Los Chachirules
- Volleyball: Team H-Mart
- Flag Football: Team Brotein
- Coed Basketball: Team Flawless
- Open Basketball: Team No Maams
- 6v6 Soccer: Team International
The last league to wrap up this season is Open Soccer on Wednesday, May 8. There have been delays for that league due to the rain, but it’s back on! Join us to see the final game of the season!
Though the Intramural Leagues have ended this semester, they will return next fall! If any of the sports offered have piqued your interest, you can sign up as early as the first day of classes on Aug. 26! If you feel there is a sport that you and others would like to participate in, but the SRWC currently doesn’t offer it, feel free to leave a suggestion. We are always looking for feedback! We hope to see you next semester!
