Beach Balance

See how much weight you can bench, deadlift, and/or squat with. For each separate competition there will be a male and female pound for pound category winner divided up by different weight classes. Overall male and female winner will receive a trophy for that specific event. Any male and female who participates in all three competitions will be eligible to win the Powerlifting Champion trophy, which is determined by the male and female with the highest total pound for pound score added from each separate competition.

When: October 3rd from 5-7 PM

Deadlift
When: October 17th from 5-7 PM
Where: Olympic Platform Area

Squat
When: November 7th from 5-7 PM
Where: Olympic Platform Area

Beach Balance, with support from Student Health Services, Bob Murphy Access Center, and Counseling and Psychological Services, aims to promote personal well-being, from a holistic approach, by empowering members of the Long Beach State University (LBSU) community to make healthy lifestyle choices.  Various educational opportunities are offered through Beach Balance, including programs about nutrition, stress management, biofeedback, and overall health education. 

Beach Balance is located on the second floor of the Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC room 203C).

SRWC Beach Balance services:

  • Massage therapy
  • Relaxonchair (full body massage chairs)
  • Daily wellness activities
  • Relaxation Station: health and wellness reading materials, art therapy, lounge chairs
